ADOT&PF Sheldon Point Airport Weather Station

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF), Rural Airports, contracted the professional services of GW Scientific (GWS) to acquire two years of instantaneous, hourly wind speed and direction data for the existing Sheldon Point airport. The airport is located near the village of Nunam Iqua, Alaska

Project Objectives

  • Installation, operation, and maintenance of a meteorological station for collection of hourly wind speed and direction data from the Sheldon Point Airport
  • Creation and maintenance of a project website to report wind data in near-realtime (no more than 24 hr delay)
